Final Oscar Predictions: Best Supporting Actor

Will Win: Javier Bardem - No Country for Old Men

There's no doubt in anyone's mind that by March, Bardem is going to be an Oscar winner. It's that type of performance that is truly a defining presence and Bardem has created a memorable movie character that will go down forever as one of the most memorable Oscar winning characters.

Should Win: Casey Affleck - The Assassination of Jesse James...

I did like Bardem, but Casey Affleck's great performance in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was amazing. He took on a character that was so deep and so complex, yet he made it work. Every scene that character is in feels so authentic. It is a great performance that represents a great year for the younger Affleck.

Snubbed: Paul Dano - There Will Be Blood

Daniel Day-Lewis has sucked up the entire acting buzz for the film, as he probably should, but I can't help but say that among all the supporting players, Dano was the only one who had the guts to try to match Day-Lewis. He didn't quite make it, but he did a hell of a job trying.
